Emma Alter: viola

British Violist Emma Alter is described by Paul McCreesh as ‘one of the finest players of her generation,’ and has been saluted by Music and Vision for her “beautifully rich tone, and an almost gypsy earthiness”.

Emma’s expertise spans renaissance extemporisation to the romantic works of Brahms and beyond.She has been in demand since 1997, performing, touring and recording with early music ensembles in the UK, Europe, Israel and North America.

Karin Bjork: violin

Karin grew up in a coastal town in southeastern Sweden, but has been living in England for over 20 years. She studied violin at the Birmingham Conservatoire and baroque violin at the Royal Academy of Music.

She now enjoys a varied career, performing with St James’ Baroque, The Mozartists, Feinstein Ensemble, Gabrieli Consort and Players and Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra.

She enjoys chamber music and performs regularly in a string trio and quartet. She teaches violin, viola and piano, and home educates her two daughters. 

Dominika Feher: violin

Hungarian violinist Dominika Feher was born into a musical family and has always had a passion for chamber music.

Dominika studied at the prestigious Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest before being awarded the Weingarten Scholarship to study at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

While at the Conservatoire, she developed a passion for early music and has become a sought-after performer specialising in historically informed performance practice of 17th and 19th century music.

Dominika has toured the world with leading early music ensembles and recorded for Signum Classics, Resonus Classics and Convivium. She’s appeared at the BBC Proms and performed at the Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall, Royal Opera House Covent Garden and Royal Festival Hall in London.

Becky Harris: violin

Rebecca Harris performs on period & modern violins. she is in demand as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral leader. 

Rebecca studied at Wells Cathedral School and the Royal Northern College of Music. with Richard Ireland. She’s recently back in the UK after 14 years in the U.S, where she recorded and performed with many leading American music ensembles.

Since returning to live in England, Rebecca’s musical life has included leading projects with Europaïsches Barokorchester Le Chardon, Norwich Baroque, and recital work with cherished new chamber partners. When she is not performing, Rebecca is active as a visual artist.

Oakki Lau: violin/viola

Oakki Lau’s diverse performing career reflects his interest and enthusiasm for all kinds of music from playing baroque to pop.

Oakki has played at the Proms, performed live on Radio 3, recorded at Abbey Road and toured the U.K. and Europe with the multi ethnic orchestra Chineke!

Recent recordings include Britten War Requiem with Gabrieli Consort, A Short Album About Love and Fin de Siécle with The Divine Comedy. Max Richter’s album Voices, Ellie Goulding, and the reissue of Bob Marley’s Legend.

Henrik Persson: Cello

Born in Stockholm, Henrik moved to England to study cello and viol da gamba at the Birmingham Conservatoire and the Royal Academy of Music.

Henrik currently enjoys a rich and varied freelance career, performing and recording, most notably as first continuo player for Sounds Baroque and Amici Voices. He is a regular with Florilegium, the Musical and Amicable Society.

He is also a founding member of Ensemble Shudi, specialising in 17th and 18th century chamber music and Newe Vialles, a new viol consort. Henrik also teaches at the annual Baroque Opera Course at Benslow Music.

Poppy Walshall: cello

Cellist Poppy Walshaw is active as a soloist, chamber musician, and continuo player on historical instruments. She works with many leading ensembles such as the English Baroque Soloists, English Concert, Academy of Ancient Music, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique, and Arcangelo.

Chamber music recordings include Hummel & Schubert quintets for Chandos, and Haydn Trios, with renowned violinist Simon Standage. Her first solo recording of Geminiani will be released early in 2023.
